As a freshman this year I have a few of my gen ed requirements out of the way. So, I was thinking of taking three languages and an introductory linguistics class since I want to major in linguistics. The three languages I'm choosing between would be Arabic 101, Russian 101, Chinese 101, French 202, or Korean 101. Arabic is the only one that is definite. Or should I just take two language classes, the linguistics class, and find another gen ed?

Take what you can handle and in accordance with where you would like to visit or live.

If I were you, I would take 2 languages - Arabic and French. You start with the devil you know and then add one unfamiliar. See how it goes. You can always add another in a later semester.

Are you planning to be a linguistics major?
