Would you be weirded out...

having your brother/sister at the same college as you? are there many siblings that go to the same colleges?

Haha these twins from my school are deciding to go to the same school (Vanderbilt) together. Should be interesting to hear back from them.

My brother goes to the same school as me. He’s six years older (was in the military previously), and we have similar interests outside of school. We’re in completely different academic programs though so the only classes that would overlap are gen-eds, and we haven’t had any of those together.

It’s nice being able to carpool home or have someone to talk to or hangout with when I want to get away from friends or stupid drama for a while.

My kids have ended up at the same U–3000 miles from our home. The U & campus is large enough that they only see each other when they choose to & have totally separate friends. They’re actually both very happy they chose the U they are both attending & enjoy each other’s proximity from time to time.

thanks yall :]

I would prefer my sister not go to the same school as me. She graduates high school this year. I fear my parents will try to make us room together. =(

I would never want my kids to room together–would want them to make their own friends & have their own lives, together only when they CHOSE to be so both could grow as they preferred.

I have a friend whose mom sent her brother to live with her & attend school where she was because he had trouble settling down & focusing on studying. He DID buckle down when he lived with her. She & he are surprised I don’t have my kids living together at their U.

My two sisters (twins, two years younger than me) actually ended up going to the same school as me. They were set on going to the same school as each other, but NOT rooming together.

People ask me sometimes if it’s weird, but to me it’s really no different than having them at the same school growing up. Even when I had a GE with one of them, it wasn’t that strange since I had orchestra with her in high school.

The three of us would get lunch together two or three times a week, but other than that I’d just see them randomly around campus. I already had my own groups of friends from my first two years there, and they made their own friends. So we weren’t together all the time, but it was nice to have them there to hang out occasionally.

I’m applying to U Penn as an undergrad next year and my sister’s there for grad school right now. So…hopefully I can tell you in a year and a half.

It would be weird. My brother’s two grades younger than I am, and we have completely different interests…

I don’t see why it matters. We went to the same high school, too. Unless it’s a tiny college you don’t have to see them either, and even if you did, who cares? As long as they aren’t going to rat to mom and dad about anything it doesn’t make much difference at all. Just because they’re there doesn’t mean you are obligated to regularly socialize with them.

I’ve already noted to everyone I don’t want to go the the same school as my brother, though we will barely ever see each other since it is a big school. I don’t think it’s weird, but I just wouldn’t want to…

I would love to have my sister go to the same school as me. But we are best friends so that might be why.
But if you don’t like them that much, I don’t think it really matters since it’s unlikely you’ll see or have classes with your siblings. Even then, it’s not like you have to sit next to them. I don’t know if the case would be the same if it were a small college though.

I’m trying to convince my brother to transfer from U of London to NYU law. It would be so nice to have him in the same city. We have the same taste in movies and we borrow DVDs from each other all the time. It’s hard to do that now that he’s overseas though. Also, he’s over 21. :D

Highly, I want to be on my own.

My sister and I go to the same school too. A lot of people think we’re twins but we’re not. We have a two year age difference. She’s a great older sister because she helps me out in chemistry before finals if she can XD

No siblings here. But if I did, and he looked like me. I’d send him to social events while I studied so everyone would think I’m such a renaissance man.
