50,000 is a lot, especially for a first car, but it seems like the kid worked really hard to get all that. I hope I have kids like that when i’m older. I’d say his father should get him the car, but not such an expensive one.

Beyond spoiled. But what is that kid thinking! A BMW 335i, is he crazy. A BMW M3 is the way to go :)

Very spoiled… and this is coming from a spoiled guy with parents paying for a $1950/month apartment.

It is a bit spoiled, but it doesn’t matter if he’s going to take care of it. I wouldn’t give a young man that nice of a car, just because a teenager is more likely to wreck it than an older adult. I would maybe give my kid something that nice (if I had the money) at graduation.

50k on a car is silly IMO. A simply new car or even a nice used car would suffice just as well.

A bit spoiled, but again if you have just scored a full ride to college at this point who gives a hoot if you are spoiled. My only beef with this is that he is getting a 335i… just get a 2010 M3! The M3 is much better car!

I think it’s a bit silly to get a brand new car right before college… also, since I’m not a car person, I would rather the money be saved for postgrad education, but, to each his own.
Anyway, no, it’s not spoiled and obviously he’s worked pretty hard if he was able to get such a jaw-droppingly huge scholarship. I’m jealous. >_<

I don’t think so. If his dad has the money and he actually does what he’s supposed to, then it’s not a big deal. Spoiled would be if he felt entitled to have the car no matter what and didn’t appreciate what his father did for him. I don’t see anything spoiled about a kid that is apparently on the right track, no matter how much his parents choose to spend on him.

Not at all! $120,000 in scholarship money is quite an achievement. My best friend got his dad’s 2007 bentley continental gt when he graduated high school in 2009. That’s what i would call spoiled. Let’s just say he drives a 2010 e92 m3 now…the bentley got damaged

What? O.o My $900 per semester apartment that has six girls, two bathrooms, one kitchen/fridge/stove/etc with utilities/internet as part of rent, is high enough as is! Mind sharing some of that money? Or lending some of it towards my books/tuition/food (since the meal plans are a bit spendy and not worth it)? :D

Guess the kid really did score a full ride to college.

heh heh

^lol awesome post XD

your cousin sounds very resourceful and that’s a great thing! i wouldn’t mind a bmw myself =P lol

Ha, WastedxYears that’s hilarious.

Not spoiled, just lucky lol.

Agreed – her earned the car. Though, I think it was very irresponsible for his parents to just dunk $50k on a car. Those only go down in value, and you only get to enjoy it while you’re doing something that’s fundamentally a chore: driving.

Bourgeois parasite. In the Revolution he will be liquidated.

Yo but who the **** says driving is a chore? I love driving and do it for fun so get outta my face. Please.

WastedxYears: While normally I despise puns…I will admit that the one you used got me laughing so I shall honor it with a tag!

Anyone that drives an expensive car at college is spoiled and stupid…

I promised DD a car if she took the scholarship. She did. She will not be getting a $50K car but certainly would if I had the money and she wanted it. Lucky for me, she wants something more practical and may accept a cash buyout so to speak if she settles in a city.
