Would you have chosen a different UC?

If you were given the chance, would you have attended another UC school? If so, which one? And why?

i doubt it…are you deciding between a few uc’s? i was choosing between LA, SD, and SB. it honestly depends on your major and the type of environment you want. i got into all the UCs I applied to, so I don’t regret my decision at all.
i would like to attend UCSF though ;):D

haha, I am, actually. I’m trying to choose between UCLA (fall admit, psychobiology major) and UC Berkeley (spring admit/FPF, college of letters & sciences). UCSD (fall admit, neuroscience & physiology major) is also an option, but I’d live at home if I went there.

i woulda chosen UCLA.

-i live an hour away from it, so it’s a lot closer to home
-i have a lot more friends there
-it’s easier there lol

Im deciding between LA and berkeley

It appears you have already chosen

Still kind of choosing though

just come here.

and die.

on topic, LA. Live near there. Just want to try it out there and then decide which one to go to.

He forgot to bring his ID card to the library. You’ll live longer at Berkeley.

As if Berkeley is that much safer? my friend’s already been mugged twice

Tell him to bring an entourage.

uh, no, I love the street cred

nope i love the life here.

A tough entourage is hard to get my man. All you really need is to watch all 7 seasons of 24. And then you’ll know how to threaten a person until they wet their pants. hhahaha

I had a choice between a fall transfer to UCLA and a spring transfer to Berkeley.

Put simply, I hate Los Angeles. I’d lived in SoCal for about 10 years at that point and I was sick of the desert - I’m much more a forest person. So NorCal was an easy choice!

I wouldn’t have chosen a different UC. This place is perfect for me, minus the urban part. Merced is just a little too isolated.

Nope. Cal has Haas :)

If I was as mature now as I was then, I would have gone to UCLA. When it was time to decide, I wasn’t mature enough to move away from home/family/friends.

Oddly enough, a lot of cross admits from my school chose LA, over Berkeley. Some even chose SD over LA and Berkeley, or Davis over SD and LA. Although many conceded that Berkeley was stronger academically, they just loved the LA campus way more and said the Undergrad experience seemed better there.

I love everything about Berkeley but some people tell me that it’s better to be an above average student at UCSB than an average student at Cal. Is this true? At UCSB I got a Regents scholarship and I’d be in the honors program but at Cal, I’d be just another student. Also the research opportunities are harder to get at Cal because there are so many people competing for it.
