Would you rather go to school close to home or far away? (Poll for stats project)

These results are odd. I'm going to be living pretty close by. But the environment there is completely different, and I'll be living in the dorms away from my parents just like everyone else. The advantage is that I won't have to constantly call my parents, because I'm just a 40 minute drive away and can come by anytime. And I can see my dog on the weekends and sleep in my own room. Home will be like a vacation home from college.

Final round... I hate it when people are always bumping but I could use a few more responses.

Thanks for the help.

hard to say, since I'm overseas and my grasp of the language here is no where near good enough for the unis, I have to go far away.
However, if I was still back in California, I more then likely would stay near home.

far away from new jersey.

...(applying to JHU early decision) haha SHUSH ITS STILL ROUGHLY "FAR AWAY" lol

My D wanted close enough to drive home but out of state , Ca is a 6 1/2 hr drive.

Son preferred to be within a 4 hour drive from home, maximum 6 hours. As it turned out, he will be even closer than that. I think it only matters for air fare expense though, because as parents we don't hover and would never just drop in unannounced anyway.
