Would You Rather...? Help Me Make A Choice.

Hello all! Just wanted some help deciding between two sets of classes that I can take, and which one seems better.

Option 1] Greek mythology + Environmental Studies in relation to society and culture.

Pros:

  • Both professors are well liked among the student populace, with one having a solid A avg. grade, and the other a solid B avg. grade, along with many colorful reviews.
  • I find Greek mythology to be fascinating, so that’s nice.
  • The classes are around noon, so no need to get up early in the morning or stay late on campus.
  • The classes are smaller than most, but not too small.

Con:

  • Attendance is mandatory for the most part, for both classes (which is not necessarily bad, but I don’t like having that loom over me).
  • Prof requires custom textbooks, so that’s money needed.
  • I’m not exactly big on environmental studies.
  • I have a section at 8am from one of these classes (-_-’)

Option 2] Early World History + Upper Division Science Fiction

Pros:

  • I’m really into Science Fiction.
  • World History class’s professor has an A- avg. grade.
  • My friend is in one of these classes, so I’ll have someone to work with.
  • The UD class is small, so that’s nice-ish.
  • In the words of my friend, the World History class was “Easy as b***s”. That’s pretty neat?

Con:

  • I know next to nothing about the Science Fiction professor. That could be pretty bad, or pretty good, depending on how things turn out.
  • These classes are everyday, that kind of sucks.
  • The Science Fiction class ends at around 6:30pm. Not a pretty late time, but I feel like that’s gonna be an annoying hassle.
  • History, while I find it neat most of the time, sometimes bores me immensely.

NOW!!! Cast your votes, ladies and gents. Ask your questions or office your advice, either one is welcome. Have a nice one

I would do option 1. I really like having my evenings free even if it means taking an earky class. I’m also more interested in environmental studies than science fiction.

Option 1. I really like Greek Mythology and I think learning the fundamentals of Environmental Science (or Studies) is important in becoming more socially conscious as a global citizen.

I’d also rather take a class at 5am (literally) than take an evening class. My evenings are for homework, social outings, Netflix, and sleeping.

@LizzieElizabeth Are you willing to elaborate on your preference for option 2? I want to see how it looks like from an outside perspective.

What’s your major, what do you want to do after college?

@Vctory Oh, these classes have nothing to do with my major. They’re both GE’s I’m taking. I’ve organized my schedule so that these classes fulfill the same GE requirements, and can fit in my future class schedule, so the only difference is the situations surrounding the classes and preferences.

What do you think you would be more succesful in?

Factoring:

Amount of Reading
Amount of Writing
Getting up for section
Going late to Dinner
Classes interfering with clubs/activities

@bopper These are summer classes, so no interference with any clubs (as they are not active in the summer where I’m at). I will not be getting any meal plans, so food is entirely up to when I want it, I guess.

From what I can tell, the first set has more reading (various Greek mythology books), but I like the subject. I already have a Greek Mythology book that I read once or twice a year, so I’m not gonna be blind jumping into all the reading.

As for the other option, the aforementioned friend is a fanatic about History, so she’s always willing to help everyone out. So, in terms of difficulty, they may be level.
