Would you recommend b-school...is it interesting?

I have 12 months of my educational benefit left to use and want to find a degree program that I can complete within that timeframe. I understand that there are 12-mo. MBA programs which would be a great fit, and I would not have to pay for it or for living expenses (thank you Army!)

My question is this: is the MBA program interesting, informative, broadening, etc? Is the course of study applicable to public sector work? If not - could you recommend a different 12-mo. degree?

I did history as an undergrad, did law school, have worked for government entities (public college, military, DA, etc), but would love to learn more about the private sector and finance and so forth...despite my lacking any real desire to work in those fields.

Thanks for your advice!!

Check out a book like “10 day MBA”. Or, if you’re currently in school or live near a school, sit in on a class. If you fall asleep in either one of these, you probably won’t be interested.

I sat in on a class in a top school and found that the discussion was fairly useless.
The topic is usually about top level executive decisions. If you’ve had some work experience, you know the feeling you get when you’re talking to a senior exec at like a company picnic or elevator.

Of course, the decision to go to school is not about the classes themselves.
