I realized that I've asked this question once already, but I keep seeing colleges give a rather large amounts of scholarships to NMFs. Are there any that give scholarships to high SAT scorers or are the high scorers that much more common than NMFs?

SAT is much more important, even in terms of scholarships.

SAT is more important.

Hmm. I agree SATs are more important, however; be prepared in every way you can for the PSATs.
You get one shot to get NMF.

If you have a bad sitting during the SAT, you can and should retake (if you think you can improve).

So by all means, the SATs are by far more important. You can't even be a NMF if you don't take them, but, just be prepared for the PSATs if you have a chance for NMF.

If not, then focus on the SAT.

SAT, without a doubt. NMF scholarships are only $2500 a year anyway. I mean, yeah, I'll take any money I can get, but I'd prefer to have a high SAT score and get into the college of my choice than have National Merit and get paid $2500 a year to go to a less-than-desirable school.

It depends on the school you want to go to.

I mean, PSAT is pretty important because you only get one shot to be an NMF, but SAT's are more important for getting into college, obviously.

Being an NMF can be very important at some schools. At Ohio State for example, an NMF gets full tuition (up until last year it was full tuition + 4500), while someone with a perfect score on the ACT or SAT would only be guaranteed 2700.

I know that to get many dean/presidential scholarships it is necessary to have a high SAT score, but the scholarships often adds in other factors such as gpa/rank/ecs. I see that NMFs seem to get automatic bonuses regardless of gpa/rank/ecs. I guess what I'm asking is if there are any scholarships that focuses solely on the SATs and nothing else?
