My friend got into both WPI and BU.

I think BU might be higher ranked and more prestigious but WPI might be more specialized in engineering.

Which has a better engineering program?

i really am not sure. i got into both as well but i chose carnegie mellon

Overall, WPI is ranked 55 and BU is ranked 56. For engineering, WPI is ranked 55 and BU is ranked 61. You'll definitely get more attention and hands on projects at WPI, but there is more to do at BU.

But then again..if you wanna do stuff that you can't find at WPI..I'm sure you'll find it in Boston, since it's like, what, 20 minutes away.

hmm.. wpi is higher ranked but BU seem more prestigious. which do more employers hire from?

Depends on the major. For engineering, check out both of their student career center websites. They should have listings of all the companies that come there and recruit. I have never seen the listings for BU, but WPI has many good companies coming there to recruit in all of the majors. Still, I highly recommend you get a list from the university, or from their respective websites.

Worcester is 45 min away from Boston (I'm from Greater Boston)

I went to WPI. Mechanical Engineer '00

Companies in the North East LOVE WPI grads.

I got a job around February, I was going to graduate at the end of July, because I decided to leave my IQP till the end.. I did it in London.
