writing mc question help

<p>hey guys.
i recently did a 35 question writing section, and i made two mistakes. i looked at the college board explanation and i seem to disagree.</p>

<p>can any of you please help me understand why i am wrong?
Following are the two questions:</p>

<p>Question 1:
The labor union <is negotiating=""> a contract with the hospital <that> <will satisfy=""> the demands of the workers and <be acceptable="" to=""> all levels of management. <no error.=""></no></be></will></that></is></p>

<p>My answer: "be acceptable to" --> "be acceptable by"
Book answer: No error.</p>

<p>Question 2:
In <those cities=""> <in which=""> public transportation is adequate, fewer traffic problems occur and pedestrians <are rarely=""> <involved in=""> accidents. <no error.=""></no></involved></are></in></those></p>

<p>My answer: "in which" --> "where"
Book answer: No Error.</p>

<p>I'm really confident about Question 2...since when does "which" refer to places??</p>

<p>Help would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>RK</p>

<p>Which can refer to any object besides human beings. Question one, you are just wrong on that one buddy.</p>

<p>and the other question is just an idiom...you gotta know those.</p>

<p>Thank you Adonalmao and Chrisc for your very useful responses.
Chrisc: Is there a good reference on idioms I can go through.. I am taking SAT on october 14 ( next saturday!)</p>

<p>would appreciate help - RK</p>

<p>try that...i learned idioms through everyday use of english...if your not a native speaker...it's not going to be too easy, but that link should help if you memorize those idioms</p>
