Writing MFA Programs in California

Hello! I'm totally new to this site; found it doing a google search on the above topic, actually.

I know about USC's Master of Profession Writing and I've send away for information on it.

Does anyone know of other post-B.A. level writing programs in California, or is there a book or something that someone can steer me toward? I'm thinking of enrolling Fall '06.

Thanks!

The most prestigious film programs in which one can receive an MFA in screenwriting are USC, UCLA, and NYU. A few others specifically in California are California Institute of the Arts, AFI, and Chapman University. But check out the L.O.A.F.S. guide to film schools - you'll see that there are many more options available:

Another list that might be of use to you is princeton review's list of MFA screenwriting / playwrighting schools, though the L.O.A.F.S guide is far more comprehensive:

Good Luck!

I heard that UCI has the best creative writing graduate program in the country. It might be worth checking into. Also, UCR has a creative writing department.

Brown has a MFA in Creative Writing. But brown is in New England...
