but it just doesn't make sense that people with high english scores would get low essays and low english scorers high essays...

grahhhh! a freakin 11 after i've gotten a 12 already :( ....and I wrote all 5 pages...

ok i just got mine:
35 english section
35 combined english/writing
12 essay, 3.25 pages
comments: your essay effectively supported general statements with specific reasons, examples, and details. the logical sequence of ideas in your essay fit its persuasive purpose well.

nickdechile,
how can you say i have no reason to complain?
first of all, i was not complaining, i was merely perplexed. but even if i was complaining, i have every right to do so as scores only "in the 30s" are not good enough for the school and program i want to go to!

My daughter got the same comments as Kashrauben, with the same scores, as well --- no prep at all to get the 36's. Maybe they had the same scorer!! Don't fret, though, because the schools aren't using the essay scores for admissions at this time. It's my understanding that most schools plan to monitor scores as they relate to performance in college.

I got an 11 and a 33 English/Writing score. The essay actually didn't affect my composite all since I had a 33 in the English section without the Writing portion.

I'm so thrilled with my score! Although I got the same composite (32) as last time, I now realize it wasn't all for naught because at least I got a higher score on my essay (10 to 11). It's not a huge change, but at least it's something!

Comments: "Your essay shows recognition of the complexity of the issue by partially evalutaing its implications. General statements in your essay were well supported with specific reasons, examples, and details."

I couldn't help but notice that the comments for my essay weren't nearly as flattering (or long, for that matter) as the comments for other people's essays that got an 11 (Ranks)

Edit: I believe my essay was about 2.5 pages.
