e35/r36/m35/s36

composite 36
essay 10
combined 33

Wow, what is up with all of us 35E’ers and 8 essay!? I think a 35 shows proficient grammar comprehension… a written sample will never stop being subjectively graded. A human judges essays; humans have emotions and can be subconsciously swayed.

Waah?
I got a 12 on the SAT essay, but a 9 on the ACT essay.

odd numbers SUCK.

seriously…8 and 35 composite is ridiculous…

I’m on the 35 English, 8 essay boat as well

My son’s writing score still isn’t up. Do they put new ones up daily and is it always in the middle of the night?

my writing score ain’t up either, what’s with this company?

My daughter also got a 35 English and an 8 essay. What kind of comments did you get? The only comments she got were positive ones, nothing telling her what was lacking. I really wonder about the people grading these and if the scores are just randomly given. Has anyone ever tried getting one rescored?

Yeah, mine they didn’t even give me any negative feedback, so I’m guessing they meant that I just needed to build more on the positive things.

nkl, Are you talking about comments on the website? My son had a blurb one could click that was entitled, “Ideas for Progress In Writing”, and he got a 10. He has not gotten the paper version in the mail yet.

nkl, as far as random scores, they have 2 scorers. If there is more than a one point spread in scores, I think a 3rd person reads and scores the essay. My son thinks that there is a link between the length of the essay and the score. He feels he wrote a better essay one time and he scored a 6. The reason he feels that he scored a 6 was because he had 4 more lengthy paragraphs than the “standard 5”. When he scored the 10, he told me that this proves his point! Yes, the essay that scored the 10 had 5 paragraphs, and it was a long essay.

Editing this: To be fair, I am not sure the essay that I thought was a 6, might have been scored a 7. I am just not even sure.

I really hate how my scores came out 21 English, 10 essay. Why couldn’t I have gotten a higher English score.

■■■ I got a 9

Is anyone else still waiting for writing scores?

^ yep. impatiently, i might add.

Tomorrow they will probably put up more scores, I got my MC scores on Friday of the week they were released and I got my writing scores Monday.

i seem to be in everybody’s boat
a 34 composite with an 8 essay

D: 31E+10W= 30 E/W First try with very little prep. She’s not so happy, but I am. She will have a week to prep for the June ACT after school recesses for the Summer

My daughter got a Comp 35
Eng- 35
Math-35
Reading 33
Science 35
and then the Essay was the lowest I’ve seen on here! - a 6! Her combined Eng/Writing is now a 30. Does she need to retake this test?
