writing seminar AND creative writing class in same semester

I keep having second thoughts about whether I should take both of these classes in one semester (in my first semester). I'm taking the creative writing class in the first place because I'm thinking about pursuing a career as a writer and I kind of want to see if I can keep up with writing all the time.

The writing seminar is food for thought. the creative writing seminar is the one with jay kirk. I know my semester will contain A LOT of writing, but will it be too much?

if you want to be a writer, you should go for it. I don’t believe that too much of a good thing can be bad for you.

Don’t drop food for thought. It’s an easy class and they give you free food. My friend who took it loved it and he hates writing papers. Writing seminars aren’t that much writing anyway. Unles you feel like your high school writing preparation wasn’t the best, it won’t be too much at all.

yes but now writing seminars have gotten worse b/c we have to do research papers. i was going to take the 'burbs but then i realized that i didn’t want to write a research paper about the suburbs.

now, i decided on a more academic writing seminar taught by Meredith Broussard but she’s supposed to be horrible (according to pcr). Has anyone ever heard anything about her? it stinks because the class sounded good (“everyday journalism”)

thanks for the advice. my high school writing preparation was pretty good. Last year we had to write two 20 page papers and the year before we had to write like six 10 pagers…so from the way you’re describing it I should be fine. Thanks!
