I rejected stuyvesant for townsend harris.....

compare stuyvesant(accepted as top of 10% on entrance exam), poly prep country day school(full schorlership), trinity school(2/3 grants)...which one would be better chose to go....anyone helps?

I came from public middle school, social ability is so so. like science & math more than english, like music more than visual arts.

This is in relation to the above 2 posts.

What are your primary academic interests? Don't know much about poly prep but stuy places a lot of emphasis on maths and science. Not that the humanities are terrible or anything, but I have heard several minor complaints (particularly with regard to the english and history teachers). Trinity would be more well-rounded altogether while TH would be more humanities-centered. Also, it will depend on where you are living in NY- Townsend Harris is in Queens, Stuy in Battery Park and Trinity on the Upper West Side.

thanks,
love math & science, but also aim into Harvard, Yale or standford for college,
worrying about the student body in trinity are too rich...but, lots of my classmates will go to stuy(we are all very, very bright), lead too much compettion in stuy. kind of lost

From what I've heard from friends at stuy, it is a very competitive school. But, if you enjoy maths and sciences then I have no doubt you would enjoy it there. Trinity is like most of the Manhattan prep schools (Brearly, Collegiate, Chapin etc) in that it is mostly rich white kids. Thats not to say that racial and economic diversity is non-existant at these schools, but they are definately the minority. And just because they are rich white kids doesn't mean they are snobby or unfriendly in any way. One of my best friends attends Brearly and my boyfriend is a senior at Collegiate. Incidently, my friend at Brearly is Asian and, while she acknowledges she is certainly a minority, she has never regretted her time there.
