My professor is trying to say that because I have some same numbers as the girl next to me who had a different version that I cheated off her. I went and showed her how I came to my calculations but she still wants to go through with the process and make me have a hearing with a board of the school. Can someone please help before I get expelled over something so absurd she is accusing me of? Its a math open ended question so I’m not sure how she can have evidence that I did cheat.
Maybe the girl next to you is the one with the big problem. If your calculations match your answers, I would expect you to be cleared at the hearing.
You need to look in your student handbook and see how the process works and what you are allowed to do/say/introduce.
Talk to your parents immediately if you have not already done so. Think about getting a lawyer.
In most of the college academic policies, the instructor only need to be 49% sure about if a student cheats (read the Academic Integrity Policy to know the details) . However, the student still has the right to appeal to the Academic Integrity Panel. According to the level of your case, if you are not confident to appeal to the panel, I suggest that you should drop the class right away if you can before the instructor deliver the case. If you cannot drop the class, you should read the Academic Integrity Policy for your college. And try to get help from your academic adviser, your parents and other professional staff for student affairs you know.
