w's?

i know there are threads about this but are there any for philosophy grad programs? does anyone have any insight into whether a B is always better than a W? i am a sophomore and i have decided once and for all that i am not pre med... but it's already past the add/drop date. i am not confident about my grades in general bio and chem. i am positive i won't get a c, but i'm pretty sure i can't get an A, either. would upper tier philosophy PhD programs look at a W in general bio really badly? i got an A- in the second semester of it (which i took last year) but i really don't want to bring down my overall GPA with a b or b-, especially considering the relatively ENORMOUS amount of time i would have to put in for that b. would it look significantly worse than the B? is this B bad enough to put me out of top programs anyway? thanks everybody

I think in most cases programs are usually more concerned with your grades that are related to your field. They will look at your transcript not just the number.

And regardless of whether or not they care about your bio grades, a B is not the end of the world.
