Hi, I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what my chances are at Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Cornell, NYU, Boston College, Berkeley, Brown and Georgetown.
I am a white female from California. My school does not give exact ranks, but I know that I am in the top 10% of my high school. I have a 4.13 GPA and will have taken 10 APs by the end of my senior year. My GPA unweighted is 3.9.
I have a 1410 SAT score 640 verbal and 770 math.
SAT II: 740 writing, 710 chemistry, 700 math IC

HELP PLEASE AND PLEASE BE HONEST, dont just try to make me feel good. THANK YOU!

You need to post this in the chances forum. Not here. That's why it's there. People get lots of responses there, too.

your stats frighten me. i'd say yes to cornell, nyu, bc, berkeley. show evidence of a lifeform beyond the numbers and good chances at yale, princeton, columbia, brown, and georgetown. I hate to say it though but the verbal score is low. but who am i, just another high school student, not an admissions officer. it's impossible to tell with the latter schools.

Here is how I see it:

Evaluation
-Moderately Strong weighted GPA (Sorry, but it could be a bit higher!)
-VERY rigorous curriculum (NICE JOB with the APs!)
-Strong SAT scores (sure, there are lots with 1500+, but personally I think you did PLENTY well enough!)
-Excellent SAT II scores

Predictions
Yale: Good shot
Princeton: Good shot
Columbia: Good shot
Cornell: Great shot
NYU: Excellent shot
Boston College: Excellent shot
Berkeley: Great shot
Brown: Good shot
Georgetown: Great shot

I would say you have the best chances of getting into Cornell, NYU, Boston College and Berkeley.

These are only based on your GPA, SAT, + transcript!
I really think the:
1) Essay
2) Rec Letters
3) Interview
will all play very very crucial roles!
