A few of my friends applied ED to Penn and they’re going to find out a few days before me… if they get in, I’ll be happy for them but worry that I can’t compare; if they don’t get in, I’ll be sad for them but worry that I won’t either… either way it’s not going to be fun haha.

I applied to Yale regular decision. I am just as nervous an anxious as you guys. I applied to Harvard and Princeton too, but Yale is definitely my first choice. Irish I could have applied SCEA. Is there the same type of committee for regular admissions to Yale as described previously?

Pretty sure there is.

Is it bad to have a lot of SAT subject tests? I have like five or six (took math 2 twice)

Most likely a neutral, unless you took the same one more than 3 times to try to up your score.

nine more days guys…

I’m whittling away the days to December 14th, but I’m going to be so nervous I almost want the server to crash to spare the anticipation nerves that day. But then I’m craving to find out the decision…ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

time passes so quickly… i still remember when there was still 6 weeks left of waiting time… NOOO

10 to 1 the servers will crash

I’m gonna be on from 3 EST just refreshing the yale homepage…

Noo let’s talk about something else. Here’s a game: healthiest advice for dealing with rejection/deferral? Go!

I want to say it will probably be friends, because family won’t really help all that much xD

@retrohippo, I have a couple of friends who are also applying early decision (at other schools) and we’re pretty confident we’re all getting at least deferred, so we’ve planned a pity party with food and a movie for Saturday. But hopefully it will just make me more motivated to work on my other apps, so I’ll do that, lol

@retro - I’ve got a stash of chocolate in my room

What if one you don’t get rejected? You get uninvited?

@retro i already expect deferral so it’ll just be a “get moving on your regular apps” push haha
But i’ll probably just keep busy and not think about it…

The IB Christmas party is that night, so a few hours after I find out my friends will be congratulating/consoling me…

haha @Philovitist, I didn’t really think about that. I suppose they would still be invited, it would just be an… um… interesting group dynamic. I guess we’ll just have to see. blaaargh it’s so close!!

Yeah I’m pretty much going crazy at this point. Friends and I have a movie planned for Friday the 14th or Saturday 15th (brownie points to anyone who can guess the movie) depending on when they get in so hopefully we’ll get our minds off of potential non-ideal results. By the way, I heard schools like Dartmouth, Columbia, and Stanford are coming out in the next two days because they finished early. Does Yale do this as well? Or are the results bound to the 14th at 5 PM?

@captainbrohab, I certainly hope Stanford is coming out early (I applied there SCEA, though I am on this thread because I will apply to Yale Regular Decision), but, other than speculation, there is unfortunately nothing to prove that Stanford will release results by this Friday.

Oh from what I heard (I haven’t checked seeing as I didn’t apply early to Stanford) they always release the day after Columbia and Columbia is apparently coming out tomorrow so there is a good bet Stanford is Friday then but yeah I guess there is no proof. I just don’t know if Yale ever even releases early at all…
