So many mistakes in the above post. I apologize, everyone.

Yale 2018 applicants:
Where are you supposed to put additional test scores? Yale website says to ālist any additional test scores you have received on the Yale Supplement.ā However, I do not see a place to do so.

Iām doing SCEA =D go Yale! my dream! scea 2018 <3

but really, the common app is so confusingā¦no more submitting of additional docs like resumesā¦ btw is anyone wants to chance me that would be awesomeā¦

Bump for SpoolManās first question. I would really like to know what changed for @philovitist.

I have a question that Iād love some of you guysā input on. I go to a school that has had one person accepted to Yale (public school, ~500 per class) every year for the past 3 years. This year, a guy has already gotten recruited for sports at Yale. Iām valedictorian and have much better academic, extracurricular, and leadership stats than him, but is it really worth applying SCEA if Yale has already accepted someone from our school? We have the same background. I just want to know my chances and change my early action choice if needed.

Iām sure it wouldnāt hurt to try. Yale doesnāt have some kind of rule that says they can only take 1 person per high school. However, if there is another school (Princeton, Harvard, etc.) that you like equally and has SCEA, maybe go for that one instead.
Btw I donāt want to seem like Iām trying to get you to apply to a different school. This is my honest opinion.

My experience with my kids high school (public magnet, 250 per class) leads me to think that Yale does not have a āquotaā system since one to seven applicants are accepted to Yale every year. Out of those, one or two are typically URM, legacy or recruited athletes.

Iāve decided to apply scea and a yale admissions officer (for my state) is visiting my school in a week! It will be during the school day and he will be talking to about 5 kids at a table in my schoolās conference room. He will probably be literally sitting next to me. Needless to say, Iāll be catatonic.

After a lot of debate, Iāve decided to SCEA Yale, my 1st choice school. Good luck to us all!

Hey, anyone international applying to Yale?
As an international Applicant, I would like to know!

Hey, I am applying SCEA to Yale and I am from Russia. Where are you from ? Any other internationals applying SCEA ?

Itās always helpful to read a thread before posting, see the post right before yours ;).

Actually, I meant anyone else besides the two of us ;)

Iām from FLorida and Iām applying SCEA : ) so scaredā¦ probably going to be deferred

Iāve thought about it, and if I am (MOST LIKELY) to be rejected, hopefully, I will be deferred and then rejected, so I have spring acceptances to boost my spirit. If I get rejected in December, it will be a sad Christmas time with a lone rejection.

Weāre ALL most likely going to be rejected. So everyoneās in the same boat. Canāt hurt to try, right? :)

But if you look at the past results threads youāll see that many kids with near perfect stats (or perfect in the case of silverturtle) are turned down in favor of others with strong, yet not perfect, numbers. When they say it is holistic, they mean it. The chances of getting in are low: thereās no denying it. But Iāve seen kids with SATās as high as 2370 getting rejected and unhooked applicants with 2110ās getting in. Iām playing the role of Captain Obvious right now but my point is to not let this dejected mood show up in your short answers and essays. Show why you belong at school instead of adopting the ācanāt hurt to tryā persona. Or at least be cynicalā because you need to be in Ivy L admissionsā AFTER you submit your app!

I am applying SCEA! Iām going to do mu best, but no one got into any Ivy Leagues from my school last year so I am not getting my hopes up.

Has anyone received a likely letter yet?

Yale has likely letters?
