Best of luck to all!

This is fun!

Anyone else excited to get rejected RD? I AM WOO YEAH

Ugh… So many days of waiting. Ah, well.

^^^
I feel you my88. I’m hoping us deferees at least have a better chance rd.

Hmm…Kinda regret not doing SCEA because I didn’t realize how much I wanted to get in until it was too late! I thought I wanted to stay in my home state, but after thinking about how my older sister went to Yale and absolutely loved it, my mind keeps vacillating. :x

Good luck everyone!

I’m probably applying, but I am not 100% sure yet…

im applying guys…rejected stanford SCEA so i know i probs have no chance at yale either haha. in a way i regret not applying yale or harvard SCEA (with 4000-5000 applicants) and around 20 percent accept % compared to stanford’s staggaring record breaking 7000 SCEA applicants and only 750 accepts and probs 600 defers…

I am also applying to Yale. APRIL SIMPLY CANNOT COME QUICKLY ENOUGH. Ugh. Patience, dancingwriter, patience.

Last year, the acceptance rate for RD applicants was 4.85%. 29610-649-1302= 27659. 1991-649= 1342. 1342/27659*100%= 4.85%.

That means roughly 19 people will get rejected/wait-listed for every acceptance…
Do you guys think I can cure cancer between now and April?

Wow…That’s really, depressingly low.

I ask myself everyday why yale is still on my common app list because of statistics like those.

Totally just decided to apply yesterday…less than two weeks before the deadline
Yale is pretty awesome though, just looking at the website

Good luck to rd applicants!
Yale is definitely a nice place to be. The people I’ve talked to so far are extremely nice, humble, and talented. Keep your heads up you guys!

Hey guys, I would like to send in a recommendation letter from my research mentor. However, I don’t see a “Other Recommender” section under Assign Recommenders on the Common App like with other schools. Does Yale allow additional recommendation letters besides those of teachers, and if so, how should I send them? Thank you!

^^ college prep, Google “Yale supplemental letter recommendation” and among other things, you will find:

I think it’s best if the letter is on letterhead paper and in an official envelope. As far as I know, you can’t do it through CA.

Supplementary Materials - Extra Recommendations

If you feel the need to submit extra information, you may ask one additional recommender to write on your behalf. Please do not solicit this additional letter unless you feel it will add substantially to your application. The writer should know you well personally or have mentored you closely in some capacity. Please ask that person to include the following at the top of their letter: your full, legal name as it appears in your application, the name and location of your high school, and your date of birth. The letter should be labeled “Supplementary” to avoid confusion. The letter should be mailed to us directly from the mentor and include your full, legal name as it appears in your application and the name and state or country of your high school.

I’m confused! I submitted my app at 6:30PM Dec 31, but in my Common App, it says that I submitted my app Jan. 1!

Let the waiting begin.

@my88keys I have the same problem… submitted my app around 8:30 pm and it says it was submitted on Jan 1.

And the wait beings. I loved Yale when I visited and I would flattered if I could get in, but I feel like MIT is a better fit for me. We’ll see what happens on March 27th. I wonder if all the Ivy league schools release decisions on the same day. I know Harvard releases them on March 27th too. I would rather not set myself up for mass rejection lol.
