Any good ideas for a consolation distraction should the results not be favorable on Dec. 16th? As a parent, I feel like I need to have some diversion ready… lol

My Dad’s reaction when I was disappointed was some reference to it being too cold up there anyhow. Not really a comforting reaction to rejection…

Wwward, your dad and mine might have gone to the same parenting class. If I didn’t succeed in getting a girl to go out with me, he’d say that he hadn’t wanted to say anything before, but had I noticed that her right ear was just a fraction larger than her left? Teen eye roll. We will think of something about Yale if we have to.

IxnayBob: LOL. Yes… 30 years in the military sort of molded my father into someone who simply said what he thought… without much of a filter. Hopefully it toughened me up for the realities of life.

Well, we are leaving on a college campus road trip on the 26th, so maybe she will fall in love with some other options if need be.

milkweed: Very good question. I guess we shall see. But we really have no other open time frame for the trip - other than 12/26-1/1… so I guess we will simply be able to see what we can by walking around - if need be. I doubt that there will be official tours available then. But it will hopefully allow her to get a feel for the campuses and surrounding areas. We plan to quickly check out Duke, Penn, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, Yale and Dartmouth… so time will be tight anyhow. But we’ve only visited her 3 FL safeties thus far. Of course Yale could be off the list. Hopefully not.

DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE TROUBLE SLEEPING AT NIGHT. Wondering if I will get in I stir for hours then read college confidential and my brain is buzzing and buzzing and buzzing!!! December 16th seems like a million years away and I just need to be committed to an insane asylum for the next 120 hours if I’m going to make it.

Does anyone else have a ton of major assignments coming up? Surprisingly, those are failing to take my mind off of this, which is bad for both my performance and mental health. :/

I have a ton! My school does midterms really late (Feb) so I don’t have that stress but I have a lot of essays and presentations before break. I’m okay with it, at least while I’m working on them in school I’m occupied! It’s the ‘fluff’ classes that are a struggle right now because my mind can wander.
