Yale MBA/JD & Stanford MBA/JD

Hi All,

I was looking for some advice on what to do from where I am currently in my career path and stumbled across college confidential... Found out that the answers to all the questions that I've read so far are quite impressive and here is hoping the same for me too... Hopefully once I cross this bridge, I would be able to return the favor as well.

I have graduated from NYU majoring in Information Systems Management in 2011 with a CGPA of 3.6 and started working in a startup right after that. Then I finished my CFA charter and joined an investment bank as an associate. Now currently I am quite happy with my job but am aiming to go for the MBA/JD combination in either Yale or Stanford.

My primary goal is getting the MBA/JD is that there is a business that I am currently running and I think that this combination would be absolutely wonderful addition to the board that I am in and also that it practically seals off my unemployment chances.

I was wondering what kind of score in GMAT would we need to look for and what should be the application profile like? Should I get recommendation letters from my partners or from my managers? And any other suggestion would be highly helpful.

Thank you.

Yale SOM and Yale Law have lots of info about admissions on their webpages. I’m sure Stanford would as well. You’re best going to the primary source first about advice on rec letters.

I’d say from your managers.

Also, I’m pretty sure even if you’re doing a dual-degree program, you still have to take the LSAT to participate in the JD program…
