Yale-NUS Class of 2021

@linkinparkfan congrats!! you are really lucky! So it took them nearly 1 month to make the decision, I guess that Round 2 Waitlist Candidates will receive their answers by June… (after a month)
I’m very worried, but hope for the best… Good luck to everyone!

Hey guys, my friend told me of this forum. I’m on the waitlist and my friend and I found out that we could sign up for eyw. Any of the rejected and on the waitlist can do the same?

I am very tempted to go tho…

Oh, please don’t do sign up XD
Everyone can register. I registered and sort of got scolded by Mr. Cho XD
More detailed response:
Everyone is able to register for EYW. However, I think only accepted students are actually signed up and stuff.

@ethanwatson4
Ooo okay thanks!

No luck with my appeal letter :frowning: they said they don’t reconsider applicants sigh

Guys one doubt… i am a cbse student and I’m awaiting my exam results. I’ve already got admission but do you think they’ll reconsider my appplication if my average mark does not match my predicted average mark.

I expect a 3-4% deviation in my cbse score from that of my predicted grade. I’d be really grateful if you could answer.

Thanks

Nah dude you’ll be fine

Nice knowing you guys. Cya :’)

Guys I’m on the waitlist but really want to show Yale-NUS that i truly want to go. Does anyone have any tips? E.g. I have a research paper that I’ve mentioned but I’ve never uploaded its abstract should I submit this supplementary material? Any advice?

@CheonSongYi that is a great idea!! email admissions about how you really wanna go to YNC and why. update them about your new grades and stuff. most of all just tell them about how YNC is the perfect place for you and what you would do if you were admitted. cite some activities which are already in the college and talk about how you would love to be a part of them

Round 2 waitlisted applicants, are there anyone who have received the final decision???

Nope still waiting

Hey @Admission371 I am a prspective student and will be applying next year. It would be very helpful if you could share info on your essays, extracurriculars, scores etc. Would be really helpful! I’ll be grateful

@DEEPUSS Heyyy! I am from India too and currently in grade 12! I’ll be applying next year, and honestly Yale NUS is the only place I want to go to! Could you share info, about your essays, academics, extracurriculars etc.? Would really help, thankss!!

I’m looking for any input from US citizens, either who applied to or attend Yale-NUS.

I’m concerned about financial aid and/or the work bond requirement. If she is admitted to Yale, my daughter will get a full scholarship, including room, board, tuition, books, study abroad, travel expenses. I think NUS would be more expensive, am I right? I talked to her about the work bond (and I know you can buy your way out of it, right?) She is against committing to any work bond whatsoever.

Also, a Yale-NUS degree is not a degree issued by Yale University, is it?

Finally, my daughter is looking at liberal arts colleges, which is why she is leaning towards Yale, a very LACish Ivy. She has visited Singapore before and is concerned about free speech issues. The Socratic method, argument and critical thinking are fundamental at Yale in New Haven or any liberal arts college. I don’t see how this can occur with Singapore’s human rights/speech issues.
