Waitlisted ?
I got in guys
Congrats
Hey, congrats guys!!! I can’t wait to see some of you this fall!!!
For those who got in: Be sure to join the admitted students FB group and say hi!!! (no need to mention you’re from CC obvi) Some of us did self introductions and it’d be cool if y’all did too!
On remaining on the waitlist: I don’t think you don’t have to give up your slots for other universities, but I’m not familiar with how colleges in many countries work so do contact those admissions offices. If your other choices are American style and have May 1 reply deadlines, best to choose one of them so that you’re sure to go somewhere this fall
Definitely go to EYW if you can! (and follow @yale.nus.2023 on Instagram for what happened in the last EYW, but if you’re going you’ll be able to get it straight from them)
Congrats again!
What is the cut off date for round 1 and round 2 candidates to accept the offer. I am waitlisted and need to accept US offers tomorrow
I GOT IN PPL! With 49000 (in Singaporean dollars I suppose) a year for fin aid!
Can’t wait to see y’all on campus!
Good job guys! i took an L lol got rejected
@nerdydude Just curious lol did you apply for financial aid? Seems so far like all those who got in
had applied for it. I didn’t and I’m wondering if that affected my application outcome in any way haha (maybe it’s just me looking for reasons to console myself).
But once again congrats to all who got in! To those who didn’t: don’t despair, it isn’t the end of the world. Hopefully you have a back up plan!
@Joshhh hey ! at my admission interview they told me to sign up for financial aid. however the interviewer did mention that your financial aid application and admissions applications are viewed separately, so one does not affect the other
congrats for those at got in
Seems they either select or waitlist. God only knows how big a waiting list pool they gonna make since they already selct twice the number of candidates and have a very healthy yield rate of 52%. It virtually leaves the waitlist candidates with zero chances
Yale NUS is need-blind in its admissions process. Perhaps this is why I got accepted with a full ride and got rejected from all US universities.
I got waitlisted. Someone mentioned above that being on the waitlist is equivalent to a 0% chance of getting admitted. is that true? Cos if that’s true (since yale-nus said they’d get back to me by the end of June and I have to submit my university choice by 24 May), should I just accept another university?
U should because no college admits plenty of waitlist. 24 May is date for which colleges though? US is tomorrow
24th May for Singaporean colleges
ok. Makes sense to accept. You may though discuss around, though my belief is that waitlists have negligible chances and its risky to rely on that
Does anyone know what’s gonna be in the admit package (aside from the hardcopy letter)?
Lol I was wondering if they’d mail a Yale-NUS T-shirt or sth.
@DaRealYI do you think they’ll mail packages outside of Singapore?
