For those who got admitted during SCEA, did you submit any supplementary materials, especially the optional recommendation letter? thanks!
I submitted an extra letter of rec, but I think it really only worked because it was from a very different angle and direction compared to my teacher letters
I submitted music and research portfolios, along with respective rec letters from my piano teacher and research mentor. Since both have known me for quite a long time, I felt that they potentially had some valuable insights. Def go for an optional rec letter if you think it has the potential to enhance ur app. If worst comes to worst, it won’t contribute much and the AO will just ignore it.
@hyperpi314 @Galileyom Thank you for your input. One quick question: did you guys satisfy the test requirement by self reporting the scores in the Common App instead of sending the official scores? Thanks!
@foolgirl I sent my official scores. You should definitely (if possible).
^I disagree with that. Yale made a conscious decision to not require official test scores on application and only on matriculation. They are not going to view a self reported candidate any differently than one who sent in official score reports. Save the money.
