@ThomasKMJ That means that it wasn’t received until today. I submitted my application on October 25 and mine says “Downloaded- October 26, 2016 ET”
The consequences of not submitting your application early!
I’m on West Coast and just submitted at like 10:30 p.m. PST. Is that alright for the due date?
@TikopiaRock28 Well the deadline explicitly says “by 11:59,” so 10:30 is before 11:59… So if you’re asking “Is 10:30 before 11:59?” yes, yes it is. Sorry to sound rude, but that question was kind of ridiculous lol
@DreamforIvy I just wanted to make sure there was no funny business with the PST and EST difference
@TikopiaRock28 I understand… The Common App also states, “All deadlines are 11:59 p.m. your local time…” so you’re all good. I’m from Arizona, so I know what you’re going through when it comes to applying to schools across the country. The time zones suck
@DreamforIvy Haha it’s the west coast struggle!
Early Action is officially over everyone! Now a month and a half before decisions are released!!!
Everyone: please don’t panic about the 11:59 or 12:02 submission.
In the history of this site, there are probably 10,000 posts like this that congregate near every Nov 1 and Jan 1. It’s a spectacle.
I’ve yet to see a single post “OMIGOSH! I’m screwed! I turned my app in at 12:01 and they are not going to review my application!”
Why is that? Because they are ECSTATIC that you applied and want to find a reason to admit you (and your tuition). You’re fine. There was no one in the Yale admissions office at midnight shunting to the delete folder all applications that came in after midnight. I promise you that.
When my regional AO visited my school, he mentioned that he starts reviewing submitted applications as they are coming in, even before the Nov. 1 deadline, because this helps him get his heavy workload done with earlier.
I submitted my Common App pretty early, but my SlideRoom portfolio and additional recs were submitted much later. I’m worried that he already went through my application earlier since it was marked as “complete”, so he won’t ever see the portfolio and rec that was submitted later. Is this a possibility?
Guys, I faxed an extra letter of recommendation before I submitted my common app. I don’t think that letter will be filed. Now that I have already submitted my common app, should I re-send the LOR just to be sure? This LOR will be critical to my application.
Your first faxed document will be matched with your file. Don’t resend.
Fax docs were de riguer before scanning and emailing, you know.
alright, thanks, mate
ugh the wait is tormenting
I applied on the 26th and still received no notification about an interview. Is there a good chance that I won’t have one?
@DreamforIvy probably depends on how many alums live in your area
@technogirl21 Okay, that’s what I thought… Thanks!
did anyone else apply to UVA early as well
yes
@nyawaj I did the same thing and faxed the letter in before I submitted my common app. I was paranoid that it wouldn’t be filed but they have a really good system so just gotta trust it haha.
