I think the best thing to do now is not obsess over the wait (which is easier said than done, I know). Definitely try and distract yourself with other things… Studying for exams if you have them, hanging out with friends, or even just going for a walk. Something I’ve noticed is that the less time I spend sitting around, the less time I spend obsessing about how many days/hours/minutes/seconds are left until decisions.
Btw I’m from Europe and I only told 1 friend about applying to Yale. The rest has no clue that I am applying to American Universities at all.
@omwtocollege230 where in Europe? I’m from Europe too!
I almost wish I had more schoolwork to keep me occupied. I’ve just been trying to convince myself to fall in love with other schools and completely put Yale out of my mind. Remember that none of the dorms at Yale have A/C so if we don’t get in at least we won’t have to deal with that!
You don’t think the new dorms would have AC? @bluekou23

Don’t regret the past four years. You did the best you could in your time. If you feel you would’ve been HAPPIER doing more activities you’re passionate about just try and get involved early in college, be it at Yale or otherwise. You can’t get back time spent, no matter what you’d prefer. So don’t waste the time you have now regretting it
@T26E4 and @Nate1991, I agree with what T26EA has said. I do Yale interviews each year, SCEA and RD. I agree that I see a range of applicants. While I am sure that their stats are stellar (I assuming since we don’t see them), from doing this for over 30 years I can usually get a lot from the interview that I then try to portray to the Committee. Some of that does not come through the application, the essay (which can be written by others) or GC recommendations (which can be written to try to boost a school’s admit rate and put a feather in their cap). While this sounds somewhat cynical, I am trying to say that don’t get to wrapped up in what the posters are saying. Once you see the results, the you will see that the vast majority of those on CC will not get in and the actual class will be filled with students who never once logged on this site. Good luck to all of you. I know this week is very stressful.
3 more gloriously oblivious days! I’m praying to Elihu Yale [kidding]
@coolcheesebagel good luck to you too!
I’m an international and I didn’t get an interview… Does that make me more likely to be rejected?
good luck everybody! holy god i’m so nervous
I didn’t get an interview too but I don’t think it will influence the decision. I’ve heard that Yale doesn’t tend to give out interviews in the early round, especially to international applicants
BTW, I’m also from Korea but I have PR status.
@GLPDickson I’m pretty sure that the majority of US residents received one; however, not many alumni will be located internationally, so it would make sense you wouldn’t have received one.
@yalehopeful017 I just want the wait to be over
What are your “hopeful” majors? Just curious…
I’m guessing by hopeful majors, you mean the three I put down on the application? If so, English, Comparative Lit, and Classics
@yalehopeful017 Humanities here too! History of Art, Political Science, and History
History of science, medicine, and public health / middle eastern studies / molecular biology
going for that global health
@GLPDickson Yale has always made sure to emphasize their humanities departments! Amazing school for the majors we want to go into Best of luck!
