Low SATs, turning my back on SCEA

I just got a horrible 1280(660M, 620V) on my October SAT and now I'm considering not doing SCEA at Yale. I'm thinking of sending my application only when I get my December SAT scores.

I wonder, is SAT worth twice chance of admission? Should I continue with SCEA or am I better-off in RD? (Btw,I'm international.)

Please help.

i think you should wait if you want to have a realistic chance of admission at Yale. Although SAT isn't everything, it's still a very important part of admission and 1280 just ain't competitve enough for Yale.

I agree, with some prep it could go up considerably, and you would likely be rejected or defferred

good luck w/ your tests and with RD!

Do we think that Yale will actually get our November scores in time for EA? The CB website says that they'll start sending out scores to colleges in 3-4 weeks, which is very close to or even past the December 15th/16th decision reveal.

I really want them to consider my November Literature score. :(

I thought they meant 3-4 weeks after we took the test. it takes 2 weeks for us to see them online, so maybe Yale will get them next week. In the Yale book it said that they usually get November SAT's on time, so I wouldn't worry so much. :P If they can get October ACT's on time (4-7 week waiting period! :gasp:), then I'm sure they can get SAT's on time. :)

That makes more sense.

Thanks :)

you're welcome

Lindsey, I talked to an admissions officer today and he said that they give plenty of time for the November scores to come in... as late as December 8th! So don't worry like I was... we're safe.

Yay!!

You guys are great.
