I've read in an article somewhere that if one needs financial aid they shouldn't apply early action/early decision to any schools since while schools may be need blind for regular decisions they may not be need blind for the early action/decision group...can anyone shed some light on this issue?

The problem with applying early decision if you need aid is that you are not able to compare financial aid offers. This is not an issue with early action, because you can apply to other schools RD. Some schools actually give more aid during EA. Yale is always need-blind and full need.

pretty sure yale is need-blind, no strings attached
