Hi! I am thinking of applying to either Columbia or Yale. The differences that I know are that Columbia has a core curriculum while Yale does not. And Columbia has less of a campus life but its in New York City and Yale has more campus scene. However, these differences dont matter much to me. So I am not sure if I am missing any major differences that should I know about.

Please tell me the major differences between yale and columbia, thanks!

I went to the Spring '05 Orgo Night and didn't find it the least bit funny (sex jokes! drinking jokes! ivy league jokes! administration jokes! political jokes! look at us!). Yes, I have a sense of humor, but sadly I think it's a bit too advanced for the petty grasping-at-straws humor articulated routinely by CUMB. Maybe it has something to do with M. Diane Murphy screening / censoring scripts. In fact, it's gotten to the point where the athletics department doesn't even bother to recognize CUMB as an affiliated "spirit" organization. Either way, last Saturday I took out a book at the half and was more amused with the antics of our modern presidents.

The Orgo Nights have been going consistently downhill since I was a freshman in '03-'04. Either that, or the jokes are just old and recycled. Still, it's no longer anything as daring or brazen as the Fall '03 Orgo Night that prompted a man to scream violently in protest during the event...
