YALE dude!!

why would anyone want to go to princeton with their elitist eating clubs and stratified social scene by class.

Dude, Princeton and Yale have both been taken in by the Man. Go to University of Chicago!!!!!!

....I go to Princeton...and its wicked fun here. The social scene is what you make of it. If you want to go to eating clubs, its there for you. And don't mistake it for being a haven for just the "white rich kids," cause its definitely not. MANY people go out to "the street" on the weekends and MANY people don't. I have friends in every class, though mostly freshman and sophomores because of the specific classes I'm taking.

The stereotype is dead. Get it over it. That was 40, 50, 60 years ago. Yale was just the same way back then.

In the end...Yale is awesome. But Princeton is awesome-er. :)

I like Princeton more, but I'm really re-considering Yale lately. I'll see how my visits go in April.

You can't go wrong with either school. But I would definitely suggest visiting because the two campuses because they (and the student bodies) will give you two different opinions (at least thats what happened for me). That doesn't mean you'll hate one and love the other, but you will realize the differences between them. I did, and still had Pton on my original list, until I decided to not apply to any other schools.

Princeton...Yale.....?

UMMMMMM.....

HARVARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I think the difference is the eating club, preppy drinking partying thing is dominant socially at Princeton (there is other stuff to do but it is THE thing to do), while at Yale that scene is a more casual frat scene and its not dominant at all. Yale is more like Harvard socially (people hang out in dorms, house parties, off campus clubs, extracurricular groups, etc), with a bit of Pton thrown in. Basically P-ton will be more fun if you like "the street," but if you don't like that scene Yale is better.

You must also keep in mind that the Ivy League with the highest percentage of prep-school kids is not Princeton, but Yale.

I prefer public school. :)

I applied Early Decision to Princeton and now attend Yale. I like both schools for different reasons. Tough decision for anyone who has the fortune of getting into both!

I don't know what good this thread is, or my post, but I feel like talking ;)

I used to be blindly in love with Harvard two years ago...just because "it was Harvard" and that's where the "brilliant people go". Since then, I've thought the whole college thing over multiple times. The summer after my sophomore year, I visited the east coast before heading off to PROMYS.

I fell in love with Yale when I visited. Everything about the school matched what I hoped to find in my college experience. Unfortunately, I didn't find that my tastes were suited for Princeton when I visited. Sure, Princeton is awesome, but it just doesn't seem to be for me. I simply cannot picture myself at the school. I also visited Harvard, and didn't find it to be as fitting as Yale, although I like Harvard more than Princeton.

In other words, it's all about preferences. Not one is better than the other. Seriously.

I got into Yale early, but I applied to a few other schools including Harvard and Princeton. I am 99% sure I am going to Yale next fall, but the other 1% can only be determined after thoroughly getting to know the other schools that I get into (granted, if I do get in anywhere else...).
