Yale vs Stanford ?

Hey everyone, I'm a senior in high school and I'm planning on applying to either Yale or Stanford Early Action.. What I'm really confused about is which one to choose ! I'm planning on doing Computer Science with either a minor in Cognitive Science/ Psychology OR a double major in one of the two.. Which university has, so far, a better reputation for the courses I've mentioned ? I noticed that Yale has an undergraduate course in Computer Science and Psychology, and this would totally be a great alternative to doing a double major, but is Yale a good college for the sciences ?

Thanks so much in advance :)

Stanford no doubt. Stanford is a top ranked CS school and close to the silicon valley

There’s a pretty big thread about Yale/Stanford. Do a search on this forum. One advantage of yale in your circumstance is that a dual major will land you in both a high ranked CS and Psych departments. CS is very strong a Yale. At the upper echelons, I can’t tell you what the differences would be btn no. 1 (stanford?) and wherever Yale happens to be. I just don’t know.

Stanford is better for CS. Yale is better for psychology/cognitive science.

At the undergraduate level, you won’t really notice the differences in quality unless you’ve already studied both at a very high level. Just go with which school you feel would fit you better.

Stanford does have that reputation for computer science, obviously.

But I’m also a Yale applicant, so I’m not going to encourage you to apply Yale SCEA.

Thanks a lot !
@TheAscendancy: Yeah I suppose it shouldn’t make too much of a difference at UG, so yes I guess it’s completely up to where I wanna go now. ^_^

@ccuser18 : Haha you sound so much like one of my classmates right now. =P

your classmate sounds like a smart dude :)

But anyways, have you visited either/both of the schools? I don’t need to tell you that both schools will provide you with an amazing education. So why not figure out which schools gives off a better vibe to you? Once you know that answer, your decision should be clear.

Haha =P

Oh visiting isn’t an option for me, I’m an international student >:( But yes I think I’ll try and find out a bit more about the atmosphere at both campuses :D

How about for biology? Specifically, infectious disease/immunology research? Anyone know who’s got the better reputation?

^In [infectious disease/immunology](http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-biological-sciences-programs/infectious-disease), both schools are tied. However, for [Computer Science](http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-computer-science-schools/rankings) and most[/url”>http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-earth-sciences-schools/rankings]most other[/url”>http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-physics-schools/rankings]other sciences[/url”>http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-biological-sciences-programs/rankings]sciences, Stanford is clearly the better school.
