Woooooooo at least the blow of rejection will be softened for like 6 weeks !
Anybody knows how many were taken off of the waitlist before? What’s the chance here?
Last year, the number was 14?
Something like that I think? I think it basically ranges from 70 (a few years back) to 0
Anyone around? Also waitlisted and wondering how you guys are faring.
My son was waitlisted, so I’m following with a mild amount of interest. But he has committed to UChicago and is very excited about it. The more time that goes by the harder it would be for him to turn his back on UChicago, so I’m not exactly on pins and needles waiting for this decision.
Congrats!! UChicago’s a fantastic choice. I’m probably going to Penn, which I’m beyond excited about. Though the chances of getting off the waitlist are basically 1%, it’ll be nice to finally know where I’m going for sure in a couple weeks or so. I just want closure.
@starbreath Congrats to you as well. Penn is a fantastic school as well. As far as we’re concerned, there is already closure. We’re proceeding as if UChicago is the place and if Yale opens up, we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. Good luck to all of those who are still hoping for Yale.
Good luck!
Anyone waitlisted at Yale and waiting? I don’t see any discussion.
@BellaVenezia Yeah still waiting Last year, seemed like they started notifying around May 13
I saw some old posts from around 2009 that said they started to notify on the 8th/9th. The letter did say mid May though.
Too bad this thread isn’t more active though–Harvard’s waitlist thread is beating us big time!! -__-
Probably because more people got waitlisted at Harvard than at Yale.
Really? Are those numbers available? Hard to believe more than 1100 students got waitlisted at Harvard. I tried looking for the Harvard thread and I don’t see it.
1100 students were WL at Yale?
Nearly… 1,098.
Yup! 1097 to be exact. And last year only around 10-15 got off.
I saw on their website it was 1098 and when we visited they said 15 got off the wait list last year.
I was reading Stanford’s thread and they’re already getting rejection emails.
