Yay! Status changed to "coming days"

I still haven’t heard yet either and my status hasn’t changed. Smeal is going to be really hard to get into. Good luck to everyone!

mine does not say coming days… is this a bad sign??? my stats arfe 25 act 3.91 w gpa honors anbd varisity cheer and captain applied undecided for summer

I got my “in coming days” status a few days ago and the picture changed to the university park campus. I should hopefully hear any day now…

DasWitty-so lucky! what are your stats if you don’t mind me asking?

My status changed to “coming days” today. I just got so much more nervous.

can i ask what your stats were? those who got the “coming days” status

I have a 4.183 GPA and a 2160 composite SAT. In state. I have a pretty good activities resume as well (even though PSU is mostly numbers driven) and my dad went there so I’m legacy. Also, I checked off for summer 2012. I’m hoping for good news…and soon! The wait was killing me. I had all of my things in on September 19th. Good luck everyone!!

I applied around the middle/end of September. I can’t remember exactly when. Penn isn’t my number one school, so I’m still debating applying to the honors college because I don’t want to end up getting in and not going–I wouldn’t want to take someone’s place.

my gpa is only slightly lower than yours and my sat is pretty close, too. so hopefully I hear soon. I just can’t stand the wait.

if i applied a little less than two weeks ago…is there any chance I could hear back by the end of the week? (assuming my stats are above average) has any ever heard back in 2 weeks?

Shansull: waiting is the worst! Now is even worse because I know it’s coming soon. As long as you applied early and your stats are above average I would think you should hear this month.

xxtlgxx: if your stats are very high I suppose it could be possible, but I would doubt it. Although, you may hear sometime this month. Usually the ones with the highest stats hear first. Good luck!

I know normally you get the physical letter before it updates online, but I can’t stop checking the website every half hour! It’s awful! Actually, the alumni officer who came to my school said I should be hearing middle of this month, so maybe it’s just teasing me.

usually once your status changes to coming days you get the letter within 3-5 days, at least from what I’ve seen. you’ll probably know by Friday. you should be happy you’re one of the lucky ones!

another quick question. I submitted my app and transcript mid September but had to wait to send my sats until I got my October results back. would they not start reviewing my app until after they got my official sats?

I just looked on the facebook page and the admissions officer said that people usually receive the letter after a decision is posted online, but I think they only update the website once a day (in the morning) so don’t drive yourself crazy! I still check multiple times a day though haha.

I think they wait until they have your entire application with transcripts and test scores before they review it, but I could be wrong. You can call admissions they’re really nice and helpful.

when you are on the penn state website it will tell you when they are ready to review your app. They will not review until they have everything.

In a previous year, my daughter got the letter first and then it was updated online.

Just by chance refreshed the page and there was my acceptance! I’m thinking the letter will come within the next 1-2 days.

I got my acceptance this morning too online! Smeal college of business summer 2012!
