Yearbook vs. Marching Band?

Right now, I'm a high school freshman. Considering that I plan on being pre-med and my dream college is Rice University(2nd choice: Boston U).
What would look better on my applications? 3 years of Yearbook or 3 years of Marching Band?
(I can't do both b/c I would have too many classes in my schedule.)

Really, just do whatever you would enjoy more.

Also think about which program has the stronger leadership, where you are likely to learn more.

well, there’s more opportunity to go for yearbook editor in the future, but the band director is making an exception for me and I might be able to be squad leader for band…

Enjoy your high school years. Have fun. Do the activities you WANT to do rather than performing for some future college admissions counselor.

Aiming primarily for the future = missing out on the joys of today.

Following your interests now = a happier and more whole person by the time you graduate.
