Thanks for chancing me! Seriously, as a salutatorian with that kind of life story and those ECs, you have a great shot at some of these schools! Good luck!

Based on the Xxxxxxxxx, I’d say you have good shots at the Ivies, but they are still reaches.

Your grades and SAT scores are strong, but I would bring up the CR by 20-30 if you are willing to retake. Your ECs are pretty good, as is the volunteering.

I am deff. retaking the SAT’s, I am taking some additional classes this summer which will probably make me 1st in the class. Is there anything else I can do to improve my chances?

Hey guys,

I know all of us are stressed about Ivy League admissions, but I would really love some feedback for what I’m doing. Basically, if I don’t make it into an ivy with a good financial aid, I can’t go to college. =]

Your grades look great; as you said, definitely get your SAT CR and Writing scores up (the latter isn’t as important though). You have some interesting ECs; the one that stuck out to me was the Int. Market.

As for your heritage, are you planning on talking about that in an essay? It’s quite an interesting mix (I’m in the same boat…for mixed heritage and family illnesses).

At this point, it’s up to you to raise your SAT scores (subject tests are fine) and write your essays.

So yes! From the looks of it, you certainly look like an interesting candidate. All of those schools are low to high reaches, but after a certain point it’s such a crapshoot. (i.e. one of my friends last year was rejected by Tufts, waitlisted at Wesleyan, and accepted to Harvard)

Good luck!!
