Al'ight looking for chances
Extremly high Reach
UC BERKLEY
UCLA
MIT
U PENN
CAL TECH.
CORNELL
Stanford
Some other good eningeering colleges.
MATCH- ? no idea, maybe u guys can suggest a match?
Safety- Suggest one please?
I prolly want to major in engineering and maybe do a minor in buissness or econ or somthing.

Oh yeah my school is very competitve. Usually top 15 get into ivy/ stanford/ ucs etc. Like 30 others get into other top colleges that are close to ivies but not quite ivies.

UC BERKELEY (spell it right, they like that)--OOS-match; match to slight reach for engineering
UCLA--OOS--match
MIT--Reach (for everyone--don't feel bad)
U PENN--Match to Slight reach (closer to match)
CAL TECH--Slight Reach (The 2050 score is the problem--needs to be a little higher for caltech)
CORNELL-Match--you'd fit right in here.
Stanford--Tough call--probably Slight Reach (once again the 2050 is the killer)
Some other good engineering colleges.
MATCH- Rensaelaer Polytechnic Institute, University of Rochester, Georgia Tech, USC
Safety- Suggest one please--Purdue stands out a mile for you--great engineering and business programs. Rose-Hulman is a safe match (not far from Purdue either)

P.S. Consider applying for Yale if your chess rating (USCF rating) is above 2250 or so. They are looking to improve their chess team, since they are getting tired of getting beat at the Pan Americans by the Univ of Texas at Dallas and Univ of Maryland, Baltimore County. (If you do this, make sure you contact the Yale chess coach when you apply so he/she can put in a good word for you with the admissions committee).

Best of luck.

Hey thanks for the response. Yeah my chess rating is only like 1700. I have not been able to play for like 5 months but once chess session starts again like in 2 weeks i will get into it again. Hopefully by the end of hs i can get up to 2000.

I was looking at some college chess teams, and did see some 1500 1600 players goto the pan tournament so maybe i will get to play when i goto a college. But prolly i wont be like recruited or anything.

Lets bump this post. Anyone else have chances for me?
