You know who's Excited? I am.

Class of 2011!

Yesterday, while I was working on a fun summer project, I got to look back through many of your applications. I read and reread many things, and I'm glad I did. You guys are awesome! I'm so proud our incoming class. Even though I was present every step along the way, I'm still impressed at how dynamic, passionate, and smart you all are.

Though I'm sure many of you are excited to start in just a few weeks, I'm really looking forward to finally meeting so many of you.

I'll close with a request. One of our biggest challenges in admissions is staying in touch with you once you actually arrive while staying current with the next year's crop of 15,500 applications. Each of us goes about it differently, but I hope you'll occasionally stop and remember that there are people at Tufts who care about you and would love to hear about how you are doing (even if we hardly ever get to see you). If you have a spare moment, consider dropping by Bendetson Hall, our office atop the hill, and saying hello to let us know how you are doing and what your own Tufts experience is like.

You're going to have a great four years!

P.S. Special love to those of you coming from my territories (which are discoverable on the website, if you are so inclined)

Yeah, it's actually nice to go and talk to the admissions people. They'll often remember exactly who you are and why they liked your application. I once stopped to talk to the officer to whom I wrote a recommendation for my best friend, and we actually just chatted about him for a few minutes. Really nice to know that they do get invested in the process and don't just choose based on SATs and grades.

WOW I had never imagined that Admission officers at a College could be this friendly.

Whatever doubts I had regarding Tufts are cleared. I'm applying.

WOW!

GO TUFTS!!!
