Ok since you have all experienced the college process and know a lot more about selectivity and such,,, I need your knowledge. I just want to give you a few of my stats so that you can give me my chances on the following schools. Basically I need to cut down my list,,,so I need your help!

University of Arizona (Instate)

Thinking of throwing an app over to UCLA and Berkley just for ****s and Giggles

Okay Help me trim down my list by giving me some suggestions/chances/preferences

To me, your list looks like it nicely covers the reach/match/safety bases. Good job.

To help you trim it, I would want to know -

Do you want to play ball-varsity recruited, varsity hoping to walk on, club? (If so, I wouldn't know which to keep or drop, but think that should be a factor)
What is your situation financially-parents willing and able to pay full freight? Qualify for need-based aid? Want or need merit aid?

You can cut the list after Loyola Marymount. You will get admitted there.

That's five schools, five apps. If you want ND or USC, you need to PERFECT your essays kiddo. Post them on this forum for FANTASTIC guidance.

Also, you MUST retake the SATs. Your scores are too low for USC and BC and merit aid. You shoot yourself (and your 3.9 GPA) inthe foot by ignoring that fact.

Both of my boys substantially increased their scores by memorizing 150 SAT words they didn't know. Using flashcards, one took three weeks to memorize the words. One took four days. How are your cramming skills?

You're pretty much guaranteed at Oregon and Arizona. I would suggest a little research to find out which one you like most (IMO, Oregon is a better school), and knock the other off your list.

Well I'm not good enough to Play Division 1 if that’s what your asking.......but I do want to play intramurals and such..... My parents do pretty well.....but I'd say after 35 grand....We may need some help...I dont qualify for Merit Aid so that won't be a factor..

Umm... I study pretty much every night for Sats.... the thing is my practicing scores range so much!! One day I'll get a 710 in Math,,, and then the next test I'll get a 630........C.R. kills me....
As far as Arizona/Oregon goes.... the only reason OU is on the list is because of their great Sports Marketing program...any other schools with great S.M. programs? .......My parents want me to apply to an instate so that is where I get UOf A from.....
So is ND and USC pretty much impossible?? (Dreams especially ND) (Id say 85 percent of my wardrobe is from their bookstore)
If I don’t get in to those my next choice would definitely be USD? What do you think about my chances there? I'm starting to get really worried.....thanks for all the help and quick responses!!

If CR kills you then you must memorize vocabulary. It's all about the vocabulary. Get an SAT study guide and glance through the words at the back. Cross out the ones that you know. Make flash cards for the rest. Ask your mom and dad to practice with you until you get them memorized.

On your practice tests, study and restudy the questions you miss--until you understand WHY you missed it.

Merit aid is given to top students irregardless of financial need. Even if you don't qualify for financial aid, you would qualify for merit aid.

First of all sorry for the tripple post.. do not know how that happened
Also... I have the princeton review's list of vocab words ... I'm memorizing 10 a night....theres about 500.....soo
What about my chances to those other schools?

Just memorize the ones you don't know. Make flashcards of ALL the ones you don't know. Review the entire group every day--putting the ones you guess correctly in one pile and repeating until you get all right.

Repeat until the day you can go through entire pile without error--or almost the whole pile.

Have you thought about which SAT-IIs you're going to take? Many of them are best taken right after that class (i.e., Math Level II right after pre-calc, etc.). Prepare for those too, and you can help yourself in the admissions process.

Definitly Math II but I took chemistry Soph year... and Im going to take physics senior year.....I took us history the summer before junior year....sooo i dont know what I'm going to do about that
