Has anyone received emails? or just calls at this point?
I didnāt get an email just the call
I feel like all writers have been notified, right? 
@gmfalv Only calls are going out as of now (?) to notify the finalists, which will be followed by an email. Emails to HM/Merit go out a week or two from now.
Any other classical music (piano specifically) waiting for a call here?
@beachdays1 I would think that at this point most writing finalists have been notified. That being said, we also havenāt heard of any creative nonfiction or novel finalists (among other categories lol), so it may also depend on what you applied in. Donāt lose hope, you could still get a call! Or maybe youāre an HM/Merit winner!
I havenāt heard from my daughter (she was thinking this whole notification process starts next week so I let her think that so she wouldnāt stress too much. lol) but I know she has classes from 3pm-7pm so not sure if she keeps her phone on. She wasnāt feeling super confident about being a finalist but she is holding on to some hope because you just never know! Looks like some music calls went out, so Iām assuming calls are scheduled today and tomorrow and if she doesnāt hear, sheāll cross her fingers for a merit or honorable mention email. Congrats to all who received that magic phone call! Thatās amazing! So happy for you! And if you havenāt heard yet-stay positive! Getting HM or Merit is a big deal too : ) And even if that doesnāt happen, itās awesome you applied and (for most of you) youāll get another shot next year!
Any classical voice singers notified? My d applied for the first time and is at rehearsal now so she canāt check her phone until 9 pm EST. She didnāt receive a call as of 6 pm.

I guess so @writer333 although the schedule is of course āsubject to changeā or something along the lines like that, the exact wording is on their FAQ.

Thank you guys!! Iām a finalist for writing. Iām in shock rn, my writing is. . . not similar to what most of the past winnersā is like.
I honestly love how supportive everyone on here is, itās such a great community of young artists & writers. I knew about YoungArts last year, but didnāt submit due to self-confidence issues. I wasnāt expecting an award at all, especially after receiving no recognition from other writing contests and feeling dejected about my work. . . but, especially, in something as subjective as the arts, rejection is normal and doesnāt invalidate our efforts. Simply the act of creation is enough.
