omgod i’m freaking out, legit dreams/nightmares every night about december 14th… sanity is hinging on vassar right now

I’m so happy I have people to talk now about Vassar. I’m pretty sure all of my friends and like everyone in my classes are sick of hearing about it. Hahaha I was reading one of the previous thread for early decision and this one kid is like “I memorized my Vassar ID. Now I know what Jean Valjean felt like.” Haha story of my life!!!

@CrystalJ: The ED acceptance rate for Vassar last year was 41% which is both rounds combined. While they don’t receive data on both rounds separately, it seems like other schools have a 5-10% increase in acceptance rate for ED1 over ED2. Don’t know if it’s the same for Vassar or not.

Thank you for your help.

5 DAYS OMG!!! Best of luck to everyone and keeping my own fingers crossed.

Hey guys! It’s so good to know that there are people out there freaking out about Vassar as much as I am. I can’t think of anything but that decision and Wednesday seems so far away… But we’ll all make it through this, and then hopefully we’ll be done. Good luck to all of you!

Hey everyone!!! I’m applying ED II and I’m already freaking out… so I can’t even imagine what you’re all going through! but GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! still 2 days to go!

TOMORROW IS THE 14TH OMG!!! Best of luck to everyone. xx

Does vassar reject or defer?

At the information session one of the admissions guys said that 90 percent of the time Vassar will reject instead of defer. The only reason they would defer someone would be if they are waiting to see something else such as first semester grades, etc.

GOOD LUCK TODAY!!!
As someone who applied ED1 to Vassar last fall, I know exactly what it’s like to be in your shoes. As the decision date drew nearer I only fell more and more in love with Vassar- and only got more and more anxious about the decision. At this time a year ago I saw two simple words: “You’re in!”. In a mere handful of hours many of you will see these same two words (or some variant), though many of you will not.

As someone who also had a very close friend (a friend completely set on going to Vassar) get deferred by Vassar, I can assure those that don’t get in that life goes on. This same friend actually got in Regular Decision and chose to go elsewhere for personal reasons (and is having a great time at said school). Nonetheless, for the Vassar College '16 (GAH!):

CONGRATULATIIIIOOOONNNSSSSS!!! With those two words, one of the happiest moments of my life became these past few months of bliss. I had some doubts and of course, there have been some tough times- I’m still figuring out my life here at Vassar. I am still balancing my coursework, getting involved with extracurriculars… but along the way this place became a home. Life here is nothing short of amazing. In short: all of your toiling towards perfect grades, SAT/ ACT scores, extracurriculars, was worth it. CONGRATS(again), and welcome to the Vassar family!!
