oh yea we have a shoo-in for harvard. RSI, USAMO, 4.0uwgpa/1600/800/800/800.

Um...yeah. I live in rural Minnesota. Yeah...people at my school don't apply to colleges further than a few hours away...except for this year. I applied EA to Yale, and my friend applied early to MIT. I think he has a pretty good chance, so I'm excited for him, but if he gets rejected or deferred, it will make me feel like Yale will do the same.

yeah, that sounds like my brother. except he also is a concert violinist and a master debater in addition to being nationaly ranked in mathematics with perfect scores

yea this kid is ranked nationally for piano, and only 100 people qualify for the USAMO each year.

I am really happy for my friend (actually, he's more of an acquaintance), who got into Columbia, but I have no idea how it happened. He's outside of the top 10%, he isn't in honors classes in the humanities, he didn't get any national merit commendation (which probably means that his SATs weren't really high), and he doesn't have any obvious great activities (no student government or varsity sports or anything visible). My guess is that there is something special about him that is some sort of secret (like maybe he fences outside of school, or maybe he broke the world record for plate spinning). But his acceptance def gives me more confidence about Yale... like, if he got in, then I feel better about my chances.

My best friend got into Columbia. It was exciting. I bought her a really big celebratory sandwich, and we sat around saying "woah" a lot.

I can't believe that it's all over for her--that, after all that time and bother, the college process is a thing of the past. It makes me sad that we're no longer in the same boat, but I'm glad things happened in this order. At least I got to revel vicariously, instead of feeling all awkward about my deferral/rejection.

Oh man, my school has been doing so well. Yay. And even happier is that all the people who have heard so far are my friends, and one is me. haha

Dartmouth
1 accepted

UPenn
1 accepted

Brown
2 accepted

Columbia
1 rejected

One disappointment out of five is not bad, I'd say. Especially considering no one (I am 95% positive) had over a 3.8, and possibly not even over a 3.7.

I know one Dartmouth and one Penn acceptee so far. I don't know how the other from Penn, Brown, Cornell, or NYU fared @ my school though...

does pton come out today?

I know a Birmingham Southern acceptee, but it wasn't EA or ED, just rolling admissions at work-- now we have to see if he gets into his reach schools. My school is on pins and needles waiting for my Yale decision, one Vanderbilt, one Northwestern, two Sewanee, and one Pomona. Lots and lots of waiting.

yea everybody is very supportive of each other. lol one person was so anxious about penn wharton he checked in the school library right after school with like 30 kids watching. luckily he got in.

an0n - that must have been amazing! were you there? if i were that penn kid, i would have flipped a sht, especially with all those people there.

No one will be near me when I see my decision. :) it'll be me and the computer screen

yea i was there and yea he flipped a *****. it was truly a great moment.

a bunch of my friends got into uva and wm early and yesterday someone got into brown early (though not from my school).

frecklybeckly
why is he a shooin?

Princeton has results, guys. :(

Just the NJ-ers, though. Th e rest of us are mondaytuesdaywednesday

That's alright. We'll find out soon enough anyway. Good luck to everyone on the Princeton board!

P.S. - Their format does look pretty nice.

Their format looks nice, but their results thus far are troubling...:(
