and drove by SUNY Albany.

Siena looks nice for an avg student. It was fine. I can not say more. It seems to fit his stats so far and we will keep it in mind but I was not real impressed. I am not too sure about the kind of aid he will be offered. Only seems suitable if he can earn merit scholarship. They really value service as they are a Franciscan order school. The area around campus looked rather dull. Albany is only 15 mins.

Skidmore was better but I did not feel it would be right for my s( he is not that artsy or laid back) but great school for business and theatre and visual or studio arts. The town is fantastic. But it did not seem to be what he is looking for. Even tho it is UPSTATE NY it was kind of a touristy small upscale town. I am interested in seeing Ithaca College something tells me this may be right.

I hope to see some SUNYs in the future they are having a fair in 2 wks that my s and I will attend. Would love to visit Geneseo and to a lesser degree Binghamton. And then there is Oneonta and Cotland or New Paltz but I'm not feelin them so much either.

Hartwick sounds interesting. Hobart and Smith too, although I've been told how uppity and snotty the kids are there. Is this true? Sometimes I think a local college may be best since he does not seem too interested yet. Do boys take longer to take an active position of investigating colleges for themselves/ Jr hs yr has not even started yet(one more week) for him, I guess he thinks this is too soon.

I'll keep my ears and eyes out for NY college info but wait for him to take the lead.

My older one is starting her freshman yr in 2 days! Maybe I just have college on the brain.
