Hi high schoolers (alliteration not intended)! Now that most of us are on break, what are your plans? Do you guys plan on relaxing from work all break, or are you guys working to prepare yourself for the next term?

I thought this would be a nice way to keep us all communicated during break while there's no school. It's also a fun way to socialize about what we plan to do in these next few weeks.

I'm doing a mix of the two, as I plan on:
• studying for my school's upcoming Academic Decathlon
• possibly doing homework for my AP classes even though they're not due until after spring break
• getting to level 30 on League of Legends so I can finally play ranked games
• catching up on a lot of shows I'm behind on in Netflix
• possibly self-studying an AP class over break

What are your plans? I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys! :-c

Sleep. Study for the two exams I missed. Sleep even more. Apply for a schoolaward and some summer programs. Finish my huge Spanish project. My semester ends the week after I get back from break, so I’ll probably review material before school again.

Sleep, get ahead on the next AP Euro unit and do the take home test he gave us, finish my lab report for physics, write a new debate case (and write my partner’s debate case because my regular partner can’t make it to the tournament and I don’t trust the girl I got put with to do anything. sigh), do a couple of robotics things, finish my online health class, and finish my online pre-calc (which I’m weeks behind in YAY). Oh, and waste a ton of time on the internet, email friends (since like none of them has a cell phone cause they hate phones), wallow over the sad 20 dollar phone I’m getting for Christmas to replace the one that broke EXCUSE ME MOM THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT WHEN I SAID A PHONE which is most likely my main gift… um sorry I’m ranting now. Yeah. Anyway, mostly sleep.

I am going to finish my AP Gov, AP Macro and chemistry homework. I am also going to take a few practice ACT tests. After that, just relax and play NBA 2K15 and Madden 15

Work to get ahead in AP English Lit and AP Spanish Lang, study math and physics for a STEM academic team I’m in, find A BUNCH of scholarships to apply for (I’m a senior)…

This is all just in the first week! I get my wisdom teeth taken out in the second week, so I’ll relax then I’ll probably work through some outside courses in interested in, and possibly read a couple books while I’m done for a few days!

So cool to see what everyone else is doing!

@snowfairy137: Not gonna lie, I kinda wish I still emailed all my friends. Those days were the best. Texting can cause so much… drama. Yuck. Sorry about the phone, though. :/

@dsi411: I’m reaaaaally thinking about looking into AMC 10 this year… I just don’t know if I’m smart enough haha.

@greninja: That sounds like a perfect mix of both, actually! I’m super tempted to start a TV show this winter break… I’ve heard a TON about Grey’s Anatomy and The 100, just not sure if I want to make the time commitment hah.

//

My plans:
-Sleep
-Sleep
-Sleep
-Teach myself HTML/CSS
-Move my site from Blogger to Wordpress
-Do a ton of SAT practice
-Waste time on the computer
-Watch a bunch of old movies
-Write some essays, apply to some summer programs
-Sleep

@Faultystart It’s optional at my school and probably at Almondjoy7’s school as well.

@Almondjoy7 Last year I got a 69 on the AMC 10 which is really bad but I’m doing it again anyways! So don’t worry about getting a low score. Nobody will know…

Binge watch a bunch of anime on Netflix, nurse the cold I’ve been having for a week, start studying for finals, begin applications for summer programs, and prep for SAT.

• studying/prepping for the ACTs
• doing my homework: 6 chapters in APUSH, an outline for APUSH, a collection of poems for english, making a drawing to relate to the poems for english, watching the video assignment for physics and who knows what else they will give us tomorrow
• binge watching TV
• begin and finish applications for a school and a program
• start self-studying for AP stats
• study for mid-terms
• sleep, if there is enough time
• work on debate affirmative and constructive
• try to finish the SciOly project

oh, and try to sleep… maybe… possibly shopping… maybe go over to a friend’s house

@faultystart: Yup, totally optional. I don’t even think anyone in my school knows what it is…

@dsi411: That’s actually pretty reassuring to hear. I’m still on the fence, though. I don’t like sucking at things and it seems so difficult. =P

I had no time to finish anything except school work in the 2-3 weeks before winter break =/ Sooo I have a few college apps to do. Also might go on vacation =) Planning to sleep a lot haha. I also have a ton of homework which is getting pushed back until after Jan. 1 - college apps are a priority! Don’t have any time to study for any AP classes; I’ll consider myself accomplished if I can even finish all my hw and my apps
