My high school offers 17 AP classes and 20 IB classes. My middle school had 1 AP (AP Human Geography) and there are 5 AP classes available to sophomores. At least 6 or 7 go to Stanford or Harvard each year.

Every year seems to change for my high school (it’s a really small foreign school sigh)…

But at the moment my school offers six APs (AP Calc AB, Bio, Lit, Stats, USH, WH).

Since every year changes, I couldn’t take any APs this year (as a sophomore) and had to repeat some classes because my old school didn’t send the transcripts over when I transferred.
Now I’m making up for it by taking AP WH, USH, Lit, and Bio and self-studying ap Stats/Psych/Gov. Maybe I’m just overreacting by taking all these APs since my school doesn’t send people to top tier universities…

Art-Drawing
AP Art History
AP Biology
AP Chemistry
AP English Language
AP Human Geography
AP Psychology
AP Spanish Language
AP Statistics
AP Studio Art
AP US History
AP World History

AP Lit
AP Lang (super hard; ony five people got an A this year)
AP Gov’t (Politics)
AP Art (joke; you just talk to the teacher all day)
AP Spanish (not next year though)
AP World History
APUSH (joke, nobody passes the exam cuz the teacher doesnt teaches)
AP Calc AB/BC (same thing, AB should ultimately be eliminated…)
AP Bio

Ours offers about half a dozen AP and about the same dual credits. It’s doubtful anyone could take all of them since the counselors can’t seem to work a schedule. There may be only one period the AP class is offered and then they’ll schedule another AP at the same time. Ridiculous. I couldn’t get one I really needed last year because it was at the same time as another must have. This year I tried to get last year’s class but again, it conflicted with another must have. I’m not a happy camper.

Anyone with college in their future will be taking honors in their Freshman and Sophomore years and AP or dual credits in their Junior and Senior years. With those classes being weighted you can’t afford to take a regular class as that will ruin your rank. Rank is everything in Texas.

I don’t know of anyone who has gone on to an Ivy from here.

a few kids at my school go to ivies, but not that many. maybe like 10 seniors, out of 700…but we are ranked well locally and nationally. and we have 17 ap classes

juniors can take ap english language, ap stats, apush, ap euro[new this year] and ap chemistry.
seniors can take
ap psychology, ap euro, ap calculus, ap physics, ap literature, ap biology, and ap stats

i think thats it.

the most ive heard of a junior taking is three…and i have no idea about whats the most a senior would take, im guessing four or five. i didnt take any as a junior, and im taking two next year. extremely low compared to almost everyone on CC, i know. i used to think ap classes were only for ridiculously smart people, but it seems like almost everyone is taking at least one or two for their senior year.
but yeaa, my school is dumb. for example, based on what ive read on here most people who take ap chem or physics have already taken a regular or honors class in that subject. we dont do that here. oh, and your options are either regular chem or ap chem, and regular physics or ap physics–theres no cp1, cp2, or honors anymore for those classes. its the same for english your junior and senior year–your options are either regular english or ap english. im going to be one of the only people going from regular english to ap literature, kind of nervous about that. oh, and for some reason only juniors can take apush. i think it should be offered to seniors as well.

Just a regular high school… Most people only take one or two AP’s a year… more than that is a little crazy.

We have AP English Lit, AP US History, AP Chemistry, and AP Government. I took English, History, and Chem, but I’m taking a ton of college classes next year and just don’t feel like dealing with yet another semester of a first-year teacher with an AP class.

too many to name.

My school is basically driven by ap classes
Most of the regular classes you can take you can take ap
this year i have ap psych, ap european history and ap english literature lined up
and ive already take 5 ap classes

My school has 15. Sophomore are only allowed to take one AP (AP European History) which I did. However, next year I will be taking 6 and senior year I will be taking 7. Of those, through self-study and college classes, I will have taken all the AP’s but three which iare computer science A, I’m not really into that stuff, and AP French and AP Latin, I’m in spanish. The ones that I am certain we offer are:
AP Spanish
AP French
AP Latin
AP Economics
AP Euro
AP Bio
AP Chem
AP Physics
AP Computer Science
AP Environmental Science
AP Lang (11)
AP Eng (12)
AP US History
AP Govt. and Politics
AP Psychology

My school has quite a few. I want to say upwards of 20, but it lacks higher level stuff like Physics C: E&M and Calculus BC. We’re a pretty good school in our area, but not the best, any definitely not competitive nationally. Out a usual graduating class of around 650, we send 1-3 to Ivies and 10+ to top 20 schools.
