LAC ish universities are like Mount Allison, Kings College… these are the hidden gems of Canada.

!! Univs that require three sat ii are Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, and Harvard. Princeton used to…

getting MIT results in less than week! (pi day… on sunday lol) ahhh
they usually only accept around 10 canadians… so dont have my hopes sky high, especially since my activities dont really show passion for math/science, but we shall see ! lol

^holy *****!!! dude, I am so excited for you getting to know soon. i dont even really know you or anything, but i’m just getting anxious after reading that lol.

good luck and if you get accepted fingers crossed, post on that new Canadians Class of 2014 thread I made just for you guys that receive decisions this year! good luck!

What program did you apply to btw? Eng.?

^MIT is my dreamschool, too, for next year. If you are a girl or a "under"represented minority, it would help a loooot… r u? Anyhow,
BEST of luck!!

Yeah. I’m getting my rejection on pi day. :(

My interviewer said that last year MIT accepted 6 Canadians. I know at least one IMO finalist applied there (he and my friend are UofT National Scholarship finalists) and there are 6 of them in Canada. Stupid quotas. =/

^^ haha awesome statistics! wooooo lol
eff it, its only mit… i applied for brain and cog sci btw

but whatever i wasnt hopeful for mit, got deferred from yale, and williams isnt needblind anymore… but the rest hm we shall see… most confident about harvard, as funny as that seems, because they got the combo of my strongest essays lol

still, it will be disappointing to get that rejection come sunday =/… and will make the next 2 weeks helllllll until i get rest of decisions(march 31st)

ps im south asian male, so def. not urm lol

^im south asian male too lmao. im not gonna apply to MIT next yr. but good luck to all of you. How cool would it be if all of you got accepted? ahah. that would be too sick.

pretty awkward haha
i recognize you people online so seeing you in real life would be weird, though i bet ive seen some people at other places(deca provincials anyone?)

lol.
I just found out the program I applied to at McGill only accepts 25 people. My R-Score was over the cut-off, so I thought, sure, why not. But it’s a new program and it’s only starting to get really well-known, so I’m afraid the cutoff is gonna skyrocket.
In which case, since I only applied there and ivies, I fear I won’t be going to college next year >.<

^don’t worry man. I saw your stats. if you don;t get in ANYWHERE, I a) punch a wall b) go through that process where you complain/get them to review your app. again or w/e that is

You will surely get in somewhere. If you don’t, well then a lot of us should not expect to get into a top school lol. If you don’t get in to one of those top schools, I won’t even btoher to apply to the top schools next year lol

Whew! Got into WashU… my first offer (and my first decision notice!)
Let’s hope this is a good sign for the rest of my “batch”. :)

Wow. Only 6 people. Actually I think 2 of them were IMO medallists.

^future physician, fill out that Class of 2014 Canada thread on this canada forum! Let’s see how many acceptances Canadians can rack up this year!

^viggy
I applied to 11 other schools. I think it would be wiser for me to post my results when I find them ALL out, so that I don’t bombard you guys with posts >___<

I applied for 7 in US and I still had a hell of a time writing essays. 11 just makes my head hurt already.

Got a likely to columbia college today!!!
Sooo excitedddd

^^ ahhh thats awesome… in the mail? or email?

i got it as an email last night. they said they also sent one via mail mail.
good luck to all!

^kelloggss, is columbia college the same as columbia university? I’m so confused, i just learned that harvard college and harvard uni. are different too (ones for undergrad, the other is for grad).

@futurephysician, ok, that makes sense. When you fill out your info., just include everywhere you applied and all the results. When everyone is done posting (in maybe late spring or so) I’ll try to take the data and come up with some concrete average stats for acceptances and so on. SO, everyone filling the acceptance thread out, please try to be as thorough as possible so I can help future Canadians out.

I wonder why the mods wont sticky that Class of 2014 Canada thread?

And futurephysician, congrats! Hopefully the first of many.
