Your Top 5 Bands

holy crap
cant believe noones mentioned:

 1. A7X (avenged sevenfold) = love em back when they were screamo-metalheads, love em with their recent, more melodic work
 2. Papa Roach
 3. Audioslave
 4. Demi Lovato (■■■■■ no joke)
 5. Metallica

Yea, I’m odd.

Papa Roach got so boring. Too generic. >_<

I did, however, see 'em live. Kind of unmemorable, though. :x

I like Avenged Sevenfold’s first two albums. I didn’t think they sold out on City of Evil; it’s just the whiny vocals that annoyed me. The musicianship was clearly top-notch.

Black Sabbath/ Led Zeppelin/ Pink Floyd

Say Anything

The Hush Sound

O.A.R.

Forgive Durden

eh
I kind of gotta agree with you (yawn) on the first comment.
Their first two albums were pretty solid and set their real hard rock style.
Then, they stumbled over their identity and made real ****ty, generic albums like Murder and/or Metamorphosis.
Gotta love paramour sessions though.

As for A7X, I’m kinda waiting for them to revitalize their screaming and more hardcore style, but I don’t know if that’s ever coming back. :/

Aw, little love for Radiohead here? I would’ve thought they’d be more popular in an intellectual community like this.

Gogol Bordello

New Order

Nile

My Brightest Diamond

Otep

 1. I’d hardly call CC’ers “intellectual”.

Radiohead is more for the pseudo-intellectual crowd. ;)

[/can of worms, consider yourself opened]

^The first one, I’d agree with. However, there are some intellectuals lurking around (not me, although I do pretend to understand Derrida).

As for the second - you can’t argue with a band that uses the octatonic scale! I don’t consider their lyrics intellectual, but I do consider them pretty intellectual musically.

As of now…

Muse

Audioslave

AFI

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Buckcherry

This month seems to be my return to more modern rock.

It’s not Radiohead, so much as their fans. ^_^

I’ve seen two of those live, one of them twice. :)

Beatles

Belle & Sebastian

Bon Iver

Radiohead

Rolling Stones

Music is fer nerdzzz.

1) VNV Nation
2) Third Eye Blind
3) Death Cab for Cutie
4) Depeche Mode
5) Badly Drawn Boy

…for now that is.

Jethro Tull

Green Day

The Decemberists

Genesis

Yes

Woohoo Jethro !

I can’t narrow it down to five bands, so I’ll just list the artists in my music library:

A. R. Rahman
A.F.I.
AC/DC
Adema
Adolescents
Aerosmith
Aesop Rock
Agalloch
Ai Otsuka (大塚愛)
Air
Ajoy Chakraborty
alan
Alanis Morissette
Albert King/Stevie Ray Vaughan
Ali Akbar Khan/Chatar Lal
Ali Akbar Khan/Zakir Hussain
Ali Farka Tour

IN A VERY PARTICULAR ORDER:

RHCP- Nothing can be better than a band who can give me funky up tempo songs, then I hit next and it’s a melodic lullaby. Not to mention an amazing guitarist and lead singer. “Jungle Man” & “Under the Bridge”

Streetlight Manifesto- Ska is definitely the sound for me, the jazzy undertones mixed with the rock-pop vibes. The inclusion of so many different instruments and sporadic breakdowns is the best. “A Moment of Violence”

The Mars Volta- This probably has something to do with my Frusciante obsession. This band is awesome, incorporating such a unique sound into the awesome guitar. “Eriatarka”

Frou Frou- What can be better than a band named after French onomatopoeia? [I spelled that right on my first try!] But seriously, their voices are amazing and so are their lyrics not to mention the entrancing instrumentals. “Psychobabble”

RBD- What would a list of favorite bands be without the teen-pop sensation band, for me this comes from Mexico and from a soap opera that I grew up with. Their relate-able lyrics combined with teenage angst make this #5. “Que Hay Detras”

you’ve got all the good music. some bad things, but mostly good :)

Let’s discuss the bad things. :)

Five favorite bands (in no order)

Bayside
Rise Against
Pilot to Gunner
Bad Religion
Taking Back Sunday

Brand New, RHCP, Sublime, and Blink-182 are up there too.
