My sons both played lots of sports growing up including volleyball, basketball, baseball, tennis. Women’s gymnastics , and now women 's soccer have been/are in the news. Emotional as well as sexual abuse issues. Boys are not immune to abuse either by coaches.
Hope more reforms result from these type of issues going forward.
I just heard this about women’s soccer in the car on the radio. It is absolutely disgusting and very likely criminal.

Yes. As was evident in the gymnastics issue, the abuse can start very early. Most coaches for both girls and boys are great and many are volunteers. But, there are definitely bad apples out there and we need to be vigilant for our children and grandchildren.
