Has anyone used this service at Emory? Any pros and cons you can relate?

i have a friend who used it. it’s pretty expensive but she was pretty happy with it

While I live in Atlanta, have never used Zipcar at Emory but my D used it multiple times in UG up north. It is great for young drivers that need a rental and cannot otherwise use traditional rental companies. The fee, while expensive, covers gas, mileage of up to 180 miles per day, insurance and tolls. The fee varies slightly depending on your location, but should be about $9 per hour or $65 per day. It is very convenient and everything can be done online, no people to deal with.

I just looked up the zip car info last night, so you should look up the criteria. It looks like you have to be 21 and have a pretty good driving record to qualify. Check it out, I think you can apply free of charge.

It was only 18 to rent, has it changed?

I just checked it out again and it does say 18 years old with an affiliated Zip Car partner university. I would think that Emory is a partner university. This is what it states:

First, are you eligible? To join Zipcar, you must:

Thanks, I couldn’t find that on the website. Zipcar is great as you can go online, make a reservation and just go up to the car and drive away.

ETA: Emory is a partner college.

Just googled zip car and emory university, so it looks like they have a program. Here is the link I reviewed:

[Emory University: Transportation and Parking Services](http://transportation.emory.edu/view/view_faqs/&faqcat=1090)

Thanks all – yes, I knew zipcar was available at Emory, and D meets the eligibility requirements, but she says “nobody uses it!” so I thought I would see if I could get some first-hand stories from Emory students.
